New Website

Posted by SCUTS Rugby at Oct 17, 2014 10:53PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Thank you all for your patience as we worked to update our website. We hope that this new site will serve our fans and alumni well. As you will see, we have added an online merchandise store through Eastbay. This will streamline our ability to deliver our fans and alumni great Santa Clara Rugby gear. Also, our 15’s season schedule has been posted with times to still be decided. We hope to see a great crowd this year as we have many home games against an expanded competition.

Please email santaclararugby@gmail.com if there are any issues regarding the new teampage.

Thank you,

Go SCUTS!

This summer, Santa Clara Men’s Rugby head coach Paul Keeler and forwards coach Eugene Mountjoy will host camps for players age 10-18. Check out the flyer above for details regarding camps at Santa Clara University and Squaw Valley, and be sure to register online at US Rugby Camps.

Starting with an early try from freshman Jack O’Hara, Santa Clara took control of Colorado State early and never let their foot off the pedal. After Michael Cunningham rumbled his way through the CSU line for two tries, hooker Tyson Dethlefsen added one of his own to bring the second half score to 26-0 in favor of the SCUTS.

Santa Clara continued to pour in tries in the second half, beginning with a diving score by sophomore Riley White. After JJ Holmgren added two tries of his own, replacement scrumhalf Matt Lawson took an offload from Nick Leasure and raced between the posts to put an exclamation point on the 49-12 victory.

Now ranked #16 in all of college rugby, Santa Clara will take on a familiar opponent in St Mary’s for the D-1A quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm at St. Mary’s in Moraga, with the B-side match before at 1:00 pm. We look forward to the continued support of our fans and we’ll see you all out there!

Make sure to follow SCUTS Rugby on Facebook and check out our Twitter for live game updates @SCUTSRugby.

For this weekend against St. Mary’s there WILL be a B-side game. The B-side kickoff is set for 1:00pm with the A side to follow at 3:00pm.
