Amazing teamwork displayed by the SCUTS in their defeat of UCSC 58-15. The first try of the game was scored by Junior Nick Johnson putting 5 points up on the board. Joey Murphy then scores a quick try assisted by Scott Johnson bringing the score to 10-0 SCUTS. Junior Nate May scores a close try putting the SCUTS up by 15. UCSC gets a penalty kick bringing the score to 15-3 SCUTS. Daniel Iritani scores a tough try followed by another try made by Tim O’Hara putting the SCUTS up to 27-3 at the half. As the second quarter begins Iritani scores an amazing try bringing the score to 27-3 SCUTS. Nick Johnson scores his second try of the game followed by a good kick by Iritani bringing the score to 39-3, SCUTS. Nate May Scores another great try assisted by SCUTS president Chris Falvey with a good kick by Iritani, 46-3 SCUTS. UCSC scores its first try of the game to make the score 46-10 SCUTS. Iritani then breaks away down the field for his third try of the game putting the score at 51-10 SCUTS. UCSC then scores one last try bringing the score to 51-15 SCUTS. As the game comes to a close Alan Lee scores a try followed by a good kick by Nick Johnson finishing the game out with a score of 58-15, SCUTS.
B-Side 53-20 W.
A great game for the SCUTS B Side with a huge win over UC Santa Cruz of 53-20 SCUTS. First score of the game by UCSC with a penalty kick for 3 points. Soon after comes a quick 2 tries for UCSC making the game 13-0 UCSC. Sophomore rookie Andy Azarello scores a tough try as he broke roughly through the UCSC defense for 5 points. The SCUTS pass well leading to a quick try by Senior Tom Tatum bringing the score to 13-10 UCSC. Tatum pushes through the UCSC defense putting the SCUTS in the lead 15-13 SCUTS. As the first half comes to an end Azzarello swiftly cuts through the UCSC defense for his second try of the game putting the SCUTS up 20-13 going into the second half. Tatum busts through the tough UCSC defense to score a hat trick in his third try of the game, the conversion kick is good by Alex Arezzini putting the SCUTS up 27-13. Arezzini broke down the field passing all UCSC players for a breakaway try and a good kick, 34-13 SCUTS. Sophomore forward Adan Rivera cut away from UCSC defense for another try for the SCUTS, 39-13 SCUTS. Soon after the SCUTS score another try by Sophomore Gabe Eiger with a good kick by rookie JJ Holmgren, 46-13 SCUTS. A quick try by UCSC with a good kick brings the score to 46-20, SCUTS. As the B-Side game came to a close freshman rookie Tyson Dethlefson scores a quick try with a good kick by Holmgren to close the game out at 53-20, SCUTS.
