After making the long drive up to Reno, the SCUTS returned home victorious with a 39-10 win over UNR. The SCUTS now move to 4-1-1 on the season.
The SCUTS started off on the right foot, with sophomore center Alan Lee intercepting a Wolfpack pass to make a fast break run to the try zone. Junior fullback Michael Dessel quickly followed with another long run into the try zone and senior forward Anthony Pastore kicked for points. Junior center Anthony Driver finished up the first half with another try to put the SCUTS up 17-0.
In the second half, senior prop Hamilton Augustine scored his first try of the season off of a kick by senior forward Anders Loven-Holt, with Pastore kicking for points. Dessel added another try to the scoreboard. Pastore converted the kick and made a penalty kick to put the SCUTS up 34-0 with 15 minutes left in the game. The Wolfpack broke through the SCUTS defense to score two trys in the final minutes of the game, but the SCUTS added one final try to the scoreboard by Lee to bring the final score to 39-10.
The SCUTS will take on Cal Maritime this Saturday, March 20th, at 1:00 p.m. on Bellomy Field. Check back here for any updates.
