at Stanford

November 4th, 2007 was a great day for Bay area rugby as the SCUTS and Stanford University met up in an exciting game for what is sure to become a great rivalry for both teams.  Senior fullback Mitch Ryan was the first player to put points on the scoreboard with a fast penalty kick.  Stanford scored the first try of the game, making the score 7-3.  For the entire first half of the game, both teams went back and forth with possession, with seniors Scott Peterson and Greg Ginotti each adding a try of their own with Ryan kicking for points.  By halftime, the score was down to a two-point lead by Stanford, 22-20.  However, in the second half the team was unable to maintain their previous field position and allowed two final trys from Stanford to end the game 34-20.
