Scott Rees
With over 20 years of rugby experience, Scott Rees will certainly be a great addition to the Santa Clara Men’s Rugby Club. Scott began his rugby career at San Jose University, where he played 8 man. As the leader of his club, he was Captain for two years and was also recognized as Team MVP twice. Upon Graduation, Scott began playing for the San Jose Seahawks, which is a Division 1 men’s club. He played 8 man for the Seahawk’s team that placed 5th at Nationals 3 times. He was named second side Forward MVP 5 times and was also named the Seahawks Team Captain.
Since 2004, Scott has been playing for the San Jose Silverhawks. With 14 years experience as an 8 man, 2 years as a loose-head prop, and 2 years as a tight-head prop, Scott will offer invaluable information to Santa Clara’s forward pack. Scott has spent numerous coaching days teaching specifics of forward play to high school, Division II and Division III clubs, and the Santa Clara Rugby Club is looking forward to having him as part of our coaching staff.
